The Adventure Begins...

Here's the deal...I HATE to write. So, this will be mostly a photo-blog, that I may have a record of my own adventures in gardening. I will attempt to write a small blurb about what the photo is of, and if I mention products or recipes I'm using I will again, attempt to remember to include the URL at the end of the post... but don't expect anything fancy. I say adventures because I've never had a garden before. I helped in my mother's garden as a teenager (which usually degenerated into my own personal campaign to save the worms). I also helped my mother-in-law a few years ago to get her garden planted and, of course, to help eat the fruits of her labor. On my own however, I've never done it. So, here goes...
Our apartment complex was kind enough to put in raised beds for a community garden. There are six beds total and we are each assigned one side of one bed to cultivate.

My plot is small but I think it's the perfect size for me. It's kind of ugly right now since my seedlings are still too small to be outside overnight.
L side is mine
Spigot at head of each plot to water

Here are my baby plants. I purchased a Salsa Garden Kit from an online supplier and it came with this nifty "green house" dome, some seed starter pellets and of course the seeds. I probably should have started this blog when I started the seeds but alas, I am the Queen of Procrastination. They are about two weeks old.
Here we have (from L to R) Anaheim Chili Peppers, Yellow Sweet Spanish Onions, Serrano Peppers, Rutgers VF Tomatoes, Grande Rio Verde Tomatillos & Slow Bolt Cilantro.

Seeds purchased from http://www.herbkits.com/salsa-garden-kit
